Applied-for mark “Gen Y” is being opposed

Grounds: Article 74.2(e) and 112, IP Law.
GENNY S.R.L, headquartered at Via Festara Vecchia, 44 I-37012 BUSSOLENGO, Verona (Italy), the owner of International Registration of Mark IRN. 456798- “Genny, figur”, currently in effect in Vietnam for clothes in Class 25 (the cited trademark) has petitioned with the IP Vietnam to oppose national (VN) applied-for mark application No. 4-2022-41517 - “Geny Y” for “clothes; footwear; headwear” in Class 25 on the grounds that the applied-for mark is confusingly similar to the cited mark already registered, in particular (i) the applied-for mark "Gen Y" and the word element "Genny" of the cited mark are similar in pronunciation, and (ii) the products bearing these marks are similar.
The case is being handled by the IP Vietnam./.
