Applied-for mark “GU LADY, hình” is being opposed
Fast Retailing Co., Ltd.; headquartered at 717-1, Sayama, Yamaguchi-city, Yamaguchi 754-0894, Japan (JP)., owner of VN Trademark Registration No.236830 – “GU, figure” (the cited marks) currently in effect in Vietnam for products in Class 25 and other classes has petitioned with the IP Vietnam to oppose VN applied-for mark application No.4-2022-52095- “GU LADY,figure” (the applied-for mark”) for "garment; ready-to-wear clothing; sandal; shoe" in Class 25 and other products/services in Class 35, 42 on the grounds of confusing similarity to the earlier cited marks, in particular (i) the products in Class 25 covered by these marks are identical and/or similar to each other, and (ii) the letter "GU" as the dominant element of the applied-for trademark is also the dominant element of the cited mark "GU, figure" already registered.
The case is being handled by the IP Vietnam./.
