Applied-for mark  “Protex, figure” is being opposed

Colgate-Pallmolive Company headquartered at 300 Park Avenue, New York, New York 10022, The United States (USA), owner of VN Trademark Registration no.17694 “PROTEX, figure” (the cited marks) currently in effect  in Vietnam for "antibacterial products”  in Class 05 has petitioned with the IP Vietnam to oppose  VN TM application no.4-2020-22958 “ProteX, figure” (the applied-for mark”) for " Antiseptics, detergents for medical purposes, disinfectants for hygiene purposes, disinfectants, antiseptics; veterinary products; disinfectant preparations, disinfectant preparations, sterilization preparations”  in Class 05 on the grounds that (i) (i) the applied-for mark is almost identical to the cited trademark and (ii) products bearing the trademarks said above are similar or related to each other and often have the same consumption channels in the market.

The case is being handled by the IP Vietnam./.
