Applied-for mark  “Saudi Rock wool, figure”  is opposed

ROCKWOOL International A/S (DK), the owner of Intl’ Registration No.813306- ROCKWOOL” and Intl’ Registration No.1393651- “ROCKWOOL, figure” (“the cited mark”) - for products “insulating materials of mineral wool; packing, stopping and insulating materials, heat insulation materials...” in Class 17 has petitioned with the IP Vietnam to oppose the national applied-for mark application No. 4-2021- 38617 “Saudi Rock wool, figure” (“the objected mark”) for products “insulating materials; heat, sound insulation materials...” in Class on the grounds that the dominant word element “rock wool” of the objected applied-for mark is confusingly similar to that of the cited figurative mark already registered in Vietnam in visual impression and pronunciation;  the products bearing these marks are identical/similar, as a result, causing a confusion between these marks to consumers.

The case is being handled by the IP Vietnam./.
