Applied-for mark “SC, figure” is being opposed
CHANEL (FR), the owner of Intl’ Registration No.1189929 “CC, figure” - (“cited mark”) - for the services of Class 03, 05, 35 and other classes has petitioned with the IP Vietnam to oppose the national applied-for mark application No. 4-2022-15590 "SC, figure” for cosmetic products, namely lotions, perfumes, shampoos in Class 03 and functional foods to protect human health in Class 05 on the grounds that the objected applied-for mark is confusingly similar to the cited mark already rtegistered and has been widely used in Vietnam, namely (i) “SC, figure” is similar to “CC, figure” in appearance and visual impression, and (ii) the products which the marks registered for are similar and have the same distribution channels.
The case is being handled by the IP Vietnam./.
