Applied-for mark “TIANFU NTK, figure” is being opposed

Authorised by and representing NGK Spark Plug Co.,Ltd., (“NGK”), the owner of Vietnam Trademark Registration No.123019 “NTK”, Pham & Asociates has petitioned with the IP Vietnam to oppose applied-for mark application No.4-2020-27356 “TIANFU NTK, figure”” sought for registration of “parts of machinery and equipment of this class, namely: saw blades, cutting blades, cutting stones, drill bits, sanding discs (all these products are parts of machines)” in Class 07on the ground of confusing similarity to the already existing registered mark “NTK” under the name of NGK for similar products in Class 07. In addition, the intended mark contains the Chinese place name Tianfu, which may mislead and/or deceive consumers as to the origin of the goods bearing the mark.

The case is being reviewed by the IP Vietnam./.
