“RunGis International Market, figure” vs. “rungig”

On behalf of and authorized by the owner of the mark “RunGis International Market, figure” under  International Registration No.1444081,  Pham & Associates have submitted a document to the IP Vietnam to object to Application No. 4-2020-04612, filed on February 18, 2020, for registration of the mark “rungig” for services in Classes 35, 36, 38, 39 on the grounds that the latter is confusingly similar to the prior mark “RunGis International Market, fig”, specifically: (i) these marks are similar in their appearance, pronunciation and visual impression, and (ii) the goods/services of the applied-for mark and those of the protected mark are identical and similar to each together.

The case is being handled by the IP Vietnam./.
