Trademark application “INTER” is being partially opposed

Grounds: Articles 74.2(e) và 112, IP Law
INTER MEDIA AND COMMUNICATION S.p.A, the owner of International Registration No. 1427016 “INTER Academy” designating Vietnam for products/services in Class 16, 35, 41&44 has petitioned with the IP Vietnam to oppose partially the trademark application No.4-2020-10112 “INTER” sought for registration for products/services ““wholesale and retail, consignment trading agent: clothes, shoes, bags, backpacks, fashion hats”” in Class 35 on the grounds of (i) confusingly similar to the earlier mark “INTER Academy” for similar products in Class 35, and (ii) identical with the trademark “INTER”, the name of the famous Italian football club widely recognized in the world and Vietnam.
The case is being reviewed by the IP Vietnam./.
