WIPO Director General Congratulates Singapore's Daren Tang on Nomination for Post of Director General

WIPO’s Coordination Committee nominated Mr. Tang on March 4, 2020 for the top WIPO job. The WIPO General Assembly will meet in an extraordinary session on May 7-8, 2020, to confirm the Coordination Committee’s nomination.
Mr. Gurry congratulated Mr. Tang, who is the Chief Executive of the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS), on his nomination.
Ambassador Tan Hung Seng, Permanent Representative of Singapore to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Geneva, Mr. Geoffrey Yu, Senior Advisor, IPOS and Mr. Loh Khum Yean, Permanent Secretary, Public Service Division and Ministry of Law also attended the meeting.
Mr. Gurry’s second six-year term as Director General ends on September 30, 2020. The term of the next Director General begins on October 1, 2020.
