Hanoi: Discovering the Unauthorized Copying of Copyrighted Textbook in High Value of Over VND 300 Million.

On June 29, The Market Management Squad No. 14 of the Hanoi Market Management Department raided and found HA Co., Ltd, having its address in Ha Ba Trung District, Hanoi, which was being unauthorized printed the copyrighted English textbook for grade 6 in value of over VND 300 Million.

Making unauthorized copies of copyrighted books infringes Article 213 of the Intellectual Property Law and may subject to an administrative penalties and criminal liability. A civil lawsuit could hold the infringer responsible for millions of VND in damages.

The representative of Education Publishing House, the licensee, said that they had many times to send cease and desist letters to the infringer, but could not stop the act of illegal copying of the textbook.
