Pham & Associates advised Duy Loi Co., Ltd in the 15 years of development

From the foundation, Duy Loi Co., Ltd was very interested in protection of intellectual property rights. Apart from the number of protected industrial designs and trademarks, at least 20 patent registrations have been granted to the CEO, Mr. Lam Tan Loi.

During the past 15 years of development, Duy Loi challenged 2 times in the United States and Japan in protection its legitimate interests and rights. Accordingly, in 2001, Duy Loi discovered its hammock industrial design was applied for patent registration in the U.S. under a Taiwanese name - Chung Sen Wu. At that time, Duy Loi was only interested in protection under industrial designs in domestic. If Duy Loi lost the IP rights in the U.S., it meant that the products of Duy Loi would not enter into the U.S. market. On behalf of the client, Pham & Associates filed a cancellation action with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to cancel the above-mentioned patent. One year later, Duy Loi successfully regained its legitimate interests and right in the U.S.

In 2002, while Duy Loi’s hammock products achieved an excellent reputation in domestic and abroad market such as China, Taiwan, Japan, Duy Loi received a cease & desist letter from Miki Johnson Company. By clear and convincing evidences submitted to the Japan Patent Office (JPO), the JPO upheld Duy Loi and canceled the utility model registration in the name of Miki Johnson. In March 2003, the products of Duy Loi returned to Japanese market.

In the domestic market, Duy Loi cooperated closely with Pham & Associates in the fight against counterfeit goods in the whole country such as Thanh Hoa, Bac Ninh and Hai Duong provinces ect.
