Proposals to support patent registration

The funding priority will be given to scientific research results, key products, national products, product designs and new plant seedings
 
The draft proposes to share up to 50% of funding for the exploiting, enhancing the value and competitiveness of products and services protected by intellectual property rights; Commercialization of intellectual property. In addition, support up to 50% of funding for the task of finishing, exploiting, applying intellectual property and creative achievements, especially  intellectual property, creative achievements of individuals having high and wide applicability, bringing practical benefits to the society and the community.

Under this draft, the funding for registration for product and service protection, of which priority be given to scientific research results, key products, national products, product designs and new plant seedings will be 30 million VND (maximum) per application for registration of invention protection and VND 15 million (maximum) per application for registration of industrial designs.

Vietnamese Finance Ministry is drafting a circular providing for financial management of the program for intellectual property development in the period 2016-2020, according to which, funds for the implementation of the program shall be secured from the following sources: State budget; Funding sources of organizations, individuals and enterprises participating in implementing the tasks under the Program; Funds raised from other lawful sources.
