Symposium on Building & Protecting Brand, the Fight against Counterfeit Goods

On June 20, 2015, the Vietnam Association for Anti-Counterfeiting and Trademark Protection (VATAP) and Market Management Department held symposium on building & protecting brand, the fight against counterfeit goods.  

The representatives of businesses such as Hoa Sen Group, Alcohol and Beverage Corporation Saigon, Vietnam Garment Group, VEAM etc, shared their opinion on the counterfeiting situation as well as raised their difficulties in the fight against counterfeiting, piracy, trade frauds.

Pham and Associates was invited to attend the seminar as the representative of IP owners and made a speech on "The importance of the registration of trademarks, industrial designs, geographical indications in the fight against counterfeiting".

Attending the symposium, the Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc assumed that “Designed to defraud and deceive, counterfeit products pose a threat to Vietnamese citizens and the Vietnamese economy. Counterfeits’ inferior quality raises significant health and safety concerns”.
